Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

What we collect

  • Account info: email address, username (public), display name (private), and profile image (from Google OAuth if applicable).
  • Uploaded content: dashcam video files, license plate numbers, car make/model, incident descriptions, and tags you select.
  • Interactions: votes, ratings, and comments you make on other users' clips.
  • Technical data: IP address (hashed for anonymous reports), browser user-agent (standard HTTP headers logged by our web server).

How we use it

  • Display your clips, votes, ratings, and comments to the community.
  • Authenticate your account and maintain your session.
  • Send transactional emails (password resets, takedown notifications).
  • Enforce our Community Guidelines.
  • Rate-limit abuse (via hashed IP, not the raw IP).

What we share

We do not sell your data. Your email address and display name are never shown to other users — only your username is public. We may share data with law enforcement if required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

Data storage

All data is stored on self-hosted infrastructure. Video files are stored in S3-compatible object storage (MinIO). Database records (users, clips, votes, comments) are stored in PostgreSQL. Backups are rotated on a schedule.

Your rights

  • Deletion: you can delete your clips from your profile page. To delete your entire account, contact us.
  • Access: you can view all your data by signing in and checking your profile.
  • Correction: contact us if any data about you is inaccurate.

Cookies

We use session cookies for authentication (NextAuth). No tracking cookies, no analytics scripts, no third-party ad cookies.
